Taiwan
As the largest Protestant denomination in the country, the Presbyterian Church has maintained a strong sense of social concern for the people in Taiwan and the future of Taiwan. Presbyterian World Mission works in Taiwan through three mission co-workers and partner church relationships.
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) mission priorities include ministry to aboriginal people, peace, justice, security and self-determination, aboriginal student work, theological education and spiritual formation and ministry to foreign migrant workers.
About our work
John McCall
John McCall has been serving in Taiwan for more than 16 years. He spends a lot of time on trains, buses, and subways as he travels throughout Taiwan teaching courses on ministry and spiritual formation at the three seminaries of the Presbyterian Church of Taiwan. John leads groups of pastors in different parts of Taiwan that meet monthly to find encouragement and challenge. Most weekends John is in a different church or presbytery teaching and preaching and equipping the leadership of the Taiwanese church.

Emily Seitz
Emily Seitz serve at the invitation of the Presbyterian Church of Taiwan. Emily serves in team ministry but hopes to work in a library or teach library science in the coming years. Taiwan Seminary is by some measures the oldest modern school of higher education in Taiwan, founded by George Leslie Mackay in 1872. Its graduates serve primarily in Taiwan, usually working in small, rural churches.
