Japan
Presbyterian World Mission has six mission co-workers serving in Japan. They are involved in evangelism, theological education, higher education, and youth and women ministries through our partnerships with organizations there. The Presbyterian World Mission priorities are ethnic minority and racial justice, foreign migrant workers, especially women in Japan, church unity and cooperation and justice for ethnic minorities in Japan. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has had a presence in Japan since 1859.
About our work
Thomas Goetz
Tom Goetz is a long-term volunteer serving as professor of English in the Faculty of Social Welfare at Hokusei Gakuen University in Sapporo, Japan. He is also English language coordinator at Hokkaido Christian Center. Hokusei Gakuen University is a four-year liberal arts school founded more than 100 years ago by Presbyterian missionary Sarah Smith.
