Committee on Ministry and Personnel

As a connectional church, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is committed to equipping mid councils with the tools and resources they need to effectively support and manage church employees and members involved in the ministry of the PC(USA) at the regional (presbytery and synod) level and in congregations serving their specific regions.

The PC(USA) supports presbyteries in issues involving employment, supervision, discipline, and training. Resources are available for a variety of topics related to these areas, such as committees on ministry. These include required training (like those on sexual misconduct and protecting children, youth, and vulnerable adults), fair and equitable hiring practices, and guidance on understanding Book of Order requirements for particular roles or accessing benefits available for those working for the church.

The church also offers resources on employment guidance for church sessions and session personnel committees and for developing mid council personnel processes and policies.
