Disaster Response Volunteers
Disaster Response Volunteers
With the service of thousands of volunteers from around the globe, hope continues to be borne out of the chaos of disasters. In service with Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, volunteers make meaningful contributions to disaster relief in various capacities and with different time commitments.
Through National Response Teams, Presbyterians work hand-in-hand with presbyteries and synods to assess the impact of disasters and share God’s love. Teams bring hope to affected individuals, families, and communities by connecting them with resources needed for short- and long-term recovery.
National Response Team members welcome newcomers to the country by developing ministries within churches and communities to support refugees and migrants. This is part of the PC(USA)’s humanitarian response to and advocacy for refugees, asylum seekers, and other forced migrants.
Whether serving with a National Response Team, providing Gift of the Heart Kits, or becoming a host site, congregations, service groups, and individuals can all help to ease the suffering of others.
