Congregational Audit of Disability Accessibility & Inclusion
This Congregational Audit of Disability Accessibility & Inclusion was prepared by the Presbyterians for Disability Concerns (PDC) leadership team, in consultation with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Disability Consultants.
The Audit is intended to assist a congregation in taking seriously the call for the church to be the full embodiment of the household of God and a “house of prayer” for all peoples (in this instance persons who have a disability). As approximately 19% of any given population has some type of disabling condition, the issues represented by this Audit affect more congregational members than we would typically think. Some persons have disabilities, but because their disability is not visible to the eye (i.e. hearing impairment, MS, chronic fatigue syndrome, etc.), they may be under our radar.
