Presbyterian organizations preparing to walk in Chicago's Pride Parade, 1998. [Pearl ID: 153426]
As part of our Pam Byers Memorial Collection, the Presbyterian Historical Society is working to create a Pride Collection. We hope to collect stories about Presbyterian congregations and other worshiping communities that celebrated Pride in 2021 or in the past. Many of the records and stories we gather will be published in our online archives.
Materials you can donate to this project include:
- Videos/audio of sermons or worship services focused on Pride Month (if video or audio isn’t available, we also welcome prepared text of a sermon in PDF format)
- Videos/audio of sermons or worship services from 2019, related to the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising
- Photographs of congregations organizing or participating in Pride events
- Photographs or video of church Pride displays
