On May 7, Elise Warshavsky joined the PHS staff in the newly-created position of Digital Archivist. Elise comes to us from the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, where she served as Digitization Coordinator.

Elise holds a Masters in Information Science from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and a Bachelors Degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. She brings to PHS a wide range of digitization, metadata, and web experience. At UNC, Elise was the Project Manager on two grant-funded digital projects: “Going to the Show” and “Driving Through Time." She also developed standards for the digital archives of the L.A. Museum of the Holocaust.
At PHS, Elise will work collaboratively with staff to develop processes and procedures, based on best practices, that acquire, organize, and preserve digital content in support of the Society’s role as the national archives of the PC(USA). We are delighted to have Elise on board!
