Guide to the George Musgrave Giger Papers

George Musgrave Giger was born in Baltimore on June 6, 1822. He was educated at Princeton University and Princeton Theological Seminary. He became a professor of Greek at Princeton in 1847 and in 1854 he switched to teaching Latin. In 1860 he was ordained by the Presbytery of New Brunswick. During 1865 he lectured on architecture at Princeton. He died that year in Philadelphia.
Record Group 285 includes sermons, Latin and architecture notebooks, a receipt book, a manuscript entitled "A System of Theology," and a few likenesses of Giger.
