When the pandemic hit, the Hunger Action Team of Chapel by the Sea Presbyterian Church in Pacific Beach, Washington, saw that food needs were being addressed at that time. Concern was for safety. Donations and volunteers have evolved this ministry from a first delivery of 25 kits in June to distribution by October of over 1,000 masks. In addition to masks, hand sanitizer and info sheets with food and emergency resources are included. The team continues to be vigilant for food security, providing summer distribution to an outlying area in need. Matthew 25 links directly with Vital Congregations and being a Hunger Action Congregation and now becoming an Earth Care Congregation with the PC(USA).
