Scholarship to the Ecumenical Institute in Bossey

The Rev. Dr. Eugene Carson Blake was a pioneer in the ecumenical movement and went on to serve both the National Council of Churches and the World Council of Churches. After his death, family and friends created the Eugene Carson Blake Scholarship to support a North American student at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey, Switzerland.

Application Deadline: Nov. 30

The General Assembly Committee on Ecumenical and Interreligious Relations (GACEIR) has been invited to nominate one Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) student applying for admission for the upcoming academic year. Priority will be given to students under 40 who have at least an undergraduate degree in theology or two years of a Master of Divinity/Theology.

Scholarship Details 

Includes tuition, room, and board for any of the following programs:

  • Certificate of Advanced Studies in Ecumenical Studies (5 months)
  • Complementary Certificate in Ecumenical Studies (5 months)
  • The Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Interreligious Studies (3 weeks personal learning, 3 weeks residential).

Application Instructions

  1. Complete the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey Admission Procedures
  2. Complete the Application Instructions to fulfill the requirements for scholarship nomination.  
  3. Submit to GACEIR at ecumenical.relations@pcusa.org

Deadline: Nov. 30

Names of the nominee for the scholarship will be forwarded to the admission committee at the Bossey Ecumenical Institute, who grant final approval of applicants. Scholarship applicants will be informed of scholarship decisions following their admission to the Bossey program.
