This year’s update includes five categories of human rights’ concerns to the attention of the General Assembly, for the most part, by our partner churches around the world. They are civil rights, political rights, economic rights, social and cultural rights, and religious rights. The 214th General Assembly (2002) encourages all middle governing bodies, sessions, and individual members to pray for all victims of human rights’ abuse and for those who persecute them, while seeking ways to act on behalf of these victims.
