The Presbyterian Publishing Corporation recently added two new resources to the Glory to God hymnal collection – Glory to God: A Companion and Glory to God—Hymns and Songs for Children and Families: Singing Faith All Day Long.
Glory to God: A Companion provides a brief history of each hymn in Glory to God. Written by Carl P. Daw Jr., the Companion explains when and why each hymn featured in the new Presbyterian hymnal was written. The resource features several indexes and extensive biographical information on the text and tune authors is available on a CD-ROM that comes with the book.
Glory to God—Hymns and Songs for Children and Families is the creation of Presbyterian Publishing Corporation and Nassau Presbyterian Church. Featuring 19 songs and 4 prayers, each of the showcased hymns were taken from the Glory to God hymnal and adapted for children by professional musicians and Sue Ellen Page, the Director of Youth and Children’s Choirs at Nassau Presbyterian Church. The hymns are organized by the time of day they should sung and suggestions on how parents, grandparents, church educators, pastors and worship leaders can help children further engage with the hymns are available online at www.pcusastore.com/SingingFaith. This unique resource is available as an audio CD and digital download.
Both resources are available for purchase at www.glorytogodhymnal.org.
