Theology & Worship
“Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:36-40
“The Church is to be a community of witness, pointing beyond itself through word and work to the good news of God’s transforming grace in Christ Jesus its Lord.” Book of Order F-1.0301
The ministry of the Office of Theology and Worship is to help Presbyterians and friends think, pray, and live the Christian faith with ever-growing depth and breadth, bearing witness to that good news.
Presbyterians have a long tradition of affirming the call to love God through thinking deeply and faithfully about God, the created order, and the relationship between the two. At its best this deepening thinking has led to prayer, worship, and work for God’s good purposes in the world.
On this page you will find links to strengthen your thinking of the faith, to practices of prayer, and to opportunities to live out our faith. Blessings as you explore ways to deepen your thinking, praying, and living.
