Guide to the John Mayhew Fulton Papers

John Mayhew Fulton was born in Dinsmore, PA on February 8, 1859. He studied at Princeton and McCormick Theological Seminaries, graduating and receiving ordination in 1887. In 1896 he earned his doctorate at Wooster College, OH. He served pastorates at several churches throughout the Midwest from 1887-1905. In 1915 he became stated supply pastor to Knox Presbyterian Church, Calgary, Canada.
Dr. Fulton was a noted preacher, particularly on the subject of temperance. In 1896 he was appointed Associate Secretary of the General Assembly's Permanent Committee on Temperance, a post he held until 1911.
Record Group 4 contains Fulton's sermons, including some newspaper reprints, and some correspondence from 1887-1911.
The collection is arranged neither chronologically nor topically; many of the sermons are undated.
