Ivanoel Gibbins (1901- ) was born in Wayne, Nebraska. She graduated from Park College in 1922, attended medical school at Rush Medical College, Chicago, 1924-1926, 1928-1930, and was appointed in 1932 by the Board of Foreign Missions to the Punjab Mission, India. She served 34 years at Philadelphia Hospital, Ambala, where she became medical superintendent. She retired in 1966.
The record group consists of a manuscript of an autobiographical memoir by Gibbins, home letters with a few mounted photographs and a report to the Board of Foreign Missions. The original manuscript and a rewritten version by Edith J. Agnew, an editor for the Board of Christian Education. The manuscript is an account of her childhood, college and medical education and her work in India.
