Registration & Travel
Registration Opens the Week of March 23, 2026
Commissioners, advisory delegates and most official participants (including corresponding members and executives and stated clerks of presbyteries, and stated clerks of synods) will receive an email with a link to use to register, request lodging in one of the assembly hotels, and create their MyGA account.
With thanks to members and presbyteries that support per capita for the national church, the assembly budget fully covers these expenses for all commissioners and advisory delegates, including:
- Round-trip travel between their home and Milwaukee at the lowest logical fare
- Accommodations (single room) in one of the four GA hotels located near the Baird Center
- Meals during the in-person portion of the assembly in Milwaukee. Some meals are provided as catered group meals; the costs of others are covered by a per diem amount, provided via a “per diem card” pre-loaded with funds which can be used in most restaurants and other outlets.
Rooms are contracted at the Hilton Milwaukee Downtown, Hyatt Regency, Marc Hotel and Springhill Suites for commissioner, advisory delegates and other official participants, including mid council staff attendees. Reservations for these rooms are requested during the GA registration process. Do not contact the hotels directly to make reservations.
On-site child care is not available during assembly sessions, and commissioners and advisory delegates who are responsible for the day-to-day care of children or dependent adults are responsible (with their family members, etc.) for making alternate arrangements so they can fully participate in the assembly meetings. However, the GA227 Dependent Care Reimbursement Policy provides for reimbursement of eligible dependent care expenses incurred by commissioners or advisory delegates.
The policy specifies that:
- The dependent is a child under the age of 18 or an adult dependent requiring care, and is the responsibility of the commissioner or advisory delegate
- The care replaces that which is normally provided by the commissioner or advisory delegate or supplements care at the assembly
- The expenses do not exceed $100 per day for one dependent and $50 per day for each additional dependent
Reimbursement may be requested for dependent care expenses related to participation in online assembly committee meetings and/or in-person plenary sessions in Milwaukee. Acceptable reimbursable expenses may include documented payments to a caregiver, and/or “non-traditional” expenses such as travel for a family member to come to the commissioner or advisory delegates’ home to provide care. Please complete and submit the pre-approval form for non-traditional dependent care expenses. Contact the GA Registrar with questions.
