BIPOC & LGBTQIA+ Spaces
for Commissioners, TSADs, & YAADs at the General Assembly
Navigating dominant white spaces and cishet privileged spaces can be intimidating and even overwhelming, particularly for first time commissioners, theological student advisory delegates, and young adult advisory delegates.
The 227th General Assembly (2026) is offering safe spaces for BIPOC & LGBTQIA+ commissioners, TSADS, and YAADs seeking support and encouragement. These spaces are curated to support fellowship and rest for BIPOC and Queer commissioners, TSADs, and YAADs who need to process, share, and reflect on their experiences at committee and plenary meetings. Supportive information and guidance will also be readily available to help navigate and gain clarity on Assembly polity and procedures.
We know that the days will be busy and hard, and hope that you will take advantage of these offerings. We look forward to being together over Zoom and in person in Milwaukee!
