Racial/ethnic leadership program offers 10-week service and learning opportunity

The Robert W. Bohl Racial/Ethnic Leadership Program provides one seminarian the opportunity to explore publishing as a ministry by serving for 10 weeks this summer at the office of Presbyterian Publishing Corporation (PPC) in Louisville.

Internship opportunities are available in the following departments, based on the interest and expertise of the intern: marketing, editing, production, and operations. Housing and a stipend of $5,000 will be provided. Dates of service are negotiable, but will take place for 10 weeks between May and September. Interested applicants should submit a résumé and cover letter by April 1, 2016to the Rev. Laura M. Cheifetz, Vice President of Church & Public Relations, at lcheifetz@presbypub.com.

Eligibility requirements

  • Seminary or divinity student at an accredited ATS school, rising middler or senior, or recent graduate
  • Member of the PC(USA) or student at a PC(USA)-affiliated seminary
  • Open to vocational exploration, considering ordination as a possibility
  • Interested in a career in publishing
  • Racial/ethnic (black/African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, Middle Eastern/Arab American, or Native American)

Four seminary graduates and seminarians have served as interns through this program in recent years. Gifts to support this ministry of the PPC may be given through the Presbyterian Foundation.
