The Main Cup: Brewing Community Through Connection

The video tells the story of The Main Cup, a church-founded coffee shop in Cynthiana, Kentucky that was created to better connect the church with the surrounding community. What began as an unused parsonage facing possible demolition was transformed into a welcoming space after church leaders redefined their mission through the New Beginnings program. Despite initial doubts, a committed board helped launch the coffee shop with a simple goal: to build relationships while serving great coffee. Over seven years, The Main Cup has become a self-sustaining ministry that fosters belonging, supports local arts and school programs, hosts church and community groups, and partners with nearby organizations. Supported largely by the community, the coffee shop continues to serve as a place where people gather, connect, and share life together, reflecting the church’s mission of outreach, hospitality, and service.
