Meeting people where they are
Church youth connect with people who are homeless in their community

The youth group from First Presbyterian Church in Gainesville, Georgia made about sixty BBQ sandwich lunches for people experiencing homelessness, many of them living under a bridge.
"We took the food to them, blessed the meal, and talked with our new friends who lived there. We asked them about some of their physical needs and what would make their lives a little easier. The students promptly began collecting those items," says Dallas Thompson, director of youth ministries.
They are planning to go back in a couple of weeks to drop off those collections and visit with them some more.
"The students and I talked a lot about how we are all children of God," Thompson says. "God loves all of us, no matter who we are or where we live. It was a blessing for all of us."
