In Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, a town 10 miles southwest of Philadelphia, a local congregation offers ashes to commuters taking the train to work.

The Rev. Sarah Cooper Searight and the Rev. David Norse Thomas of Swarthmore Presbyterian Church took part in the imposition of ashes at the Swarthmore Train Station. The act of public witness is an annual event that offers an opportunity for their congregation to connect with the wider community.
