Passion/Palm Sunday
Read Mark 12:41–44
I married young but never had children. When my husband died a few years ago, I really had no one left. I’ve lost track of the nights I’ve gone to sleep with an aching belly, yet through God’s provision, I’m still here. And as long as I’m here, I’ll honor God for that provision. I bring what I can. I drop my money in the chest, and chuckle as I imagine my two shoddy bronze coins mixed in with the gleaming gold.
On my way out, I meet the eyes of a young rabbi. He smiles at me.
Jesus, help me to realize that generosity is measured in more than dollars and cents.
