Life is a constant cycle
of burying and unearthing,
and this parable invites us
to carefully evaluate
what we shall do with the talents,
resources and time
that in God’s infinite grace
have been entrusted to us,
paying special attention
to the Biblical witness, the prophets
and the greatest commandments
that should guide our stewardship:
Love God, love your neighbor,
care for the earth, it’s your home,
do all the good you can, seek peace,
forgive offenses, throw no stones.
And although we often miss the mark
once in a while we get it right...
When we bury selfishness and unearth generosity,
we hear the voice of Jesus say:
Well done, faithful servant,
keep bearing fruits until we are able to establish
God’s kin-dom on earth.
When we bury enmity and unearth friendship,
we hear the voice of Jesus say:
Well done, faithful servant,
keep bearing fruits until we are able to establish
God’s kin-dom on earth.
When we bury hostility and unearth hospitality,
we hear the voice of Jesus say:
Well done, faithful servant,
keep bearing fruits until we are able to establish
God’s kin-dom on earth.
When we bury injustice and unearth equity,
we hear the voice of Jesus say:
Well done, faithful servant,
keep bearing fruits until we are able to establish
God’s kin-dom on earth.
When we bury imprisonment and unearth freedom,
we hear the voice of Jesus say:
Well done, faithful servant,
keep bearing fruits until we are able to establish
God’s kin-dom on earth.
When we bury evil and unearth goodness,
we hear the voice of Jesus say:
Well done, faithful servant,
keep bearing fruits until we are able to establish
God’s kin-dom on earth.
Enterrar y desenterrar

Porque al que tiene se le dará, y tendrá más; pero al que no tiene, aun lo poco que tiene se le quitará. – Mateo 25:29
La vida es un ciclo constante
de enterrar y desenterrar,
y esta parábola nos invita
a cuidadosamente evaluar
lo que haremos con los dones,
los recursos y el tiempo
que Dios en su infinita gracia
ha tenido a bien otorgar,
prestando especial atención
al testimonio bíblico, los profetas
y los grandes mandamientos
que nuestra gestión deben guiar:
Ama a Dios, sirve a tu prójimo,
cuida la tierra, es tu hogar,
haz todo el bien posible, busca la paz,
no tires piedras, aprende a perdonar.
Y aunque a menudo erramos el blanco
de vez en cuando logramos atinar...
Cuando enterramos el egoísmo y desenterramos la generosidad,
oímos la voz de Jesús que nos dice:
Bien hecho, siervo fiel, sigue dando frutos
hasta que el reinado de Dios en la tierra
logremos establecer.
Cuando enterramos la enemistad y desenterramos la amistad,
oímos la voz de Jesús que nos dice:
Bien hecho, sierva fiel, sigue dando frutos
hasta que el reinado de Dios en la tierra
logremos establecer.
Cuando enterramos la hostilidad y desenterramos la hospitalidad,
oímos la voz de Jesús que nos dice:
Bien hecho, siervo fiel, sigue dando frutos
hasta que el reinado de Dios en la tierra
logremos establecer.
Cuando enterramos la injusticia y desenterramos la equidad,
oímos la voz de Jesús que nos dice:
Bien hecho, sierva fiel, sigue dando frutos
hasta que el reinado de Dios en la tierra
logremos establecer.
Cuando enterramos el encarcelamiento y desenterramos la libertad,
oímos la voz de Jesús que nos dice:
Bien hecho, siervo fiel, sigue dando frutos
hasta que el reinado de Dios en la tierra
logremos establecer.
Cuando enterramos la maldad y desenterramos la bondad,
oímos la voz de Jesús que nos dice:
Bien hecho, sierva fiel, sigue dando frutos
hasta que el reinado de Dios en la tierra
logremos establecer.
