Colombia Earthquake

On August 10th, a 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit Ecuador and Colombia, devastating a large region and impacting thousands of lives. PDA is working with the Presbyterian Church in Colombia and other partners to respond to emergency unmet needs and, eventually, long-term recovery.

Please join us in prayer: 

God of mercy and hope, while we are still shaken by the recent earthquake in Venezuela, we now come to you with broken hearts for our siblings in Colombia and Ecuador. 

When the earth itself shakes, you remain our firm rock.

We pray for those who mourn, for families searching for the missing, and for all who sleep tonight in fear. Surround them with your presence and sustain their hope.

Strengthen the rescuers, medical workers, and every hand extended in solidarity. Bless the Presbyterian Church of Colombia and our other partners in the region, as they accompany affected communities as living witnesses of your love.

May compassion outlast the headlines, and hope prevail over despair.

Dios de misericordia y esperanza, mientras aún estamos estremecidos por el reciente terremoto en Venezuela, venimos ahora ante ti con el corazón quebrantado por nuestros hermanos y hermanas en Colombia y Ecuador.

Cuando la tierra misma tiembla, tú permaneces como nuestra roca firme.

Oramos por quienes lloran a sus seres queridos, por las familias que buscan a los desaparecidos y por todos los que esta noche duermen con temor. Rodéalos con tu presencia y sostén su esperanza.

Fortalece a los rescatistas, al personal médico y a cada mano extendida en solidaridad. Bendice a la Iglesia Presbiteriana de Colombia y a nuestros demás socios en la región, mientras acompañan a las comunidades afectadas como testigos vivos de tu amor.

Que la compasión perdure más allá de los titulares, y que la esperanza prevalezca sobre el desaliento.
