Faith & Practice Webinar: Seeing & Being Jesus in the World

Faith & Practice Webinars
Seeing & Being Jesus in the World with Mihee Kim-Kort

How do we help children, youth, and families practice seeing and being Jesus in the world?

Join Around the Table for a new Faith & Practice skill-building webinar featuring author and pastor Mihee Kim-Kort and her book, Seeing and Being Jesus in the World: How to Live God’s Radical Welcome as a Family.

Rooted in Jesus’ words from Matthew 25:40 — “Just as you did it to one of the least of these . . . you did it to me” — this timely book helps parents, caregivers, and church communities explore what it means to serve others with compassion, pursue justice, and live out faith in everyday life.

Together, we’ll engage Mihee in conversation about how families can talk with children and youth about complex issues such as poverty, racism, gender inequality, climate change, peacemaking, and more. Her book offers biblical grounding, practical guidance, conversation starters, family activities, and spiritual practices that help all ages move from learning to faithful action.

This 90-minute interactive webinar will give participants an opportunity to hear from Mihee, ask questions, and glean from her experience as a pastor, parent, and writer. Whether you are a parent, caregiver, pastor, educator, church leader, volunteer, or caring adult, this conversation will offer practical ways to nurture faith at home, around the table, and in the world.

Pull up a seat and join us for this special Around the Table conversation.

Art as Prayer Advent

Faith & Practice with Around the Table
Art as Prayer
Advent — The Creative Watercolor Art Experience

Can art become a doorway to prayer this Advent? Absolutely!

Join Around the Table for a new Faith & Practice skill-building video series experience based on the Advent Candle Lighting at Home.

Advent Home Candlelighting — Around the Table
Guest presenter Vilmarie Cintrón-Olivieri will lead this creative experience on Thursday, December 10 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern.

In this interactive 90-minute webinar, we will explore art as prayer — a spiritual practice that helps us slow down, create with intention, and connect more deeply with God, the Divine Creator. Vilmarie will guide participants through the practice of watercolor painting as prayer, offering space for reflection, preparation, exploration, and pray-creating.

This Advent-focused experience will invite us to engage watercolor as a devotional practice, paying attention to color, image, silence, movement, and prayer. Together, we will explore creative ways families, caregivers, church leaders, and faith communities can nurture spiritual connection across generations.

Participants will also receive guidance for getting started, including preparation ideas and creative practices that can be used at home, in congregations, or with children and youth. No art experience is needed — only a willingness to show up, wonder, pray, and create.

Pull up a seat and join us for this special Advent edition of our Faith & Practice video series.
