Apprenticeship Program

Great question! Anyone who is interested in being a part of this flagship program of 1001 should apply before the deadline March 15 for the calendar year in which they are interested. Or, you can contact Sara directly to talk before applying.

Applicants are interviewed and, if selected, join a cohort of other 1001 apprentices for a 9-month program. Each cohort launches with a quick couple of gatherings in the summer, and then we begin meeting weekly on Thursdays from September until May via zoom.  

Perhaps the most important component of the apprenticeship is the permission to start a ministry! Is this your yes year? We will help provide the encouragement and support to make this your moment to take the next steps. For folks who are already leading a NWC, your NWC is the new thing you start through this program.

Our weekly cohort meetings convened by Sara consist of prayer, group and personal reflection, training in the practices of community planting, and dialog. We are a supportive and encouraging group.

In addition to cohort meetings, each apprentice is matched with a coach through our 1001 coaching program for monthly sessions. Our cohort also meets at least once during the program in person for a 4-day retreat. All costs are covered for the program, and each apprentice receives a $3600 stipend.

Eligible first-year apprentices may apply for a second year in the cohort each spring.
