Advocacy Support

Advocacy committees of the Presbybterian Church (U.S.A.) were formed to advocate for historically underrepresented communities through monitoring and advising the entities carrying out the day-to-day work of the church at the highest level.

The committees’ three primary responsibilities include:

  1. Serving as a voice of advocacy on existing and emerging issues;
  2. Evaluating and monitoring policies, procedures, programs, and resources; and
  3. Advising the General Assembly and the church via overtures, resolutions, and reports recommending policy direction or action on justice issues.

This work is done by three committees dedicated to viewing this work through the lens of specific communities.
