(1) Del maestro de coro, con instrumentos de ocho cuerdas. Salmo de David.
12 (2) Sálvanos, Señor, pues ya no hay creyentes fieles;
ya no hay hombres sinceros.
2 (3) Unos a otros se mienten;
hablan con hipocresía y doble sentido.

3 (4) Arranca, Señor, de raíz
a los hipócritas y fanfarrones,
4 (5) a los que dicen:
«Con tener boca nos basta;
nuestra lengua nos defiende.
¿Quién se atreve a darnos órdenes?»

5 (6) Esto ha dicho el Señor:
«A los pobres y débiles
se les oprime y se les hace sufrir.
Por eso voy ahora a levantarme,
y les daré la ayuda que tanto anhelan.»

6 (7) Las promesas del Señor son puras;
¡son como la plata más pura,
refinada en el horno siete veces!
7 (8) Tú, Señor, nos cuidarás;
¡siempre nos protegerás de tales gentes!
8 (9) Los malvados rondan por todos lados
y todo el mundo alaba la maldad.

1 ¡Aleluya!

Alabaré al Señor con toda mi alma.
2 Alabaré al Señor mientras yo viva;
cantaré himnos a mi Dios mientras yo exista.
3 No pongan su confianza en hombres importantes,
en simples hombres que no pueden salvar,
4 pues cuando mueren regresan al polvo,
y ese mismo día terminan sus proyectos.

5 Feliz quien recibe ayuda del Dios de Jacob,
quien pone su esperanza en el Señor su Dios.
6 Él hizo cielo, tierra y mar,
y todo lo que hay en ellos.
Él siempre mantiene su palabra.
7 Hace justicia a los oprimidos
y da de comer a los hambrientos.

El Señor da libertad a los presos;
8 el Señor devuelve la vista a los ciegos;
el Señor levanta a los caídos;
el Señor ama a los hombres honrados;
9 el Señor protege a los extranjeros
y sostiene a los huérfanos y a las viudas,
pero hace que los malvados pierdan el camino.

10 Oh Sión, el Señor reinará por siempre;
tu Dios reinará por todos los siglos.

¡Aleluya!

¹   Awake, awake,
          put on your strength, O Zion!
     Put on your beautiful garments,
          O Jerusalem, the holy city;
     for the uncircumcised and the unclean
          shall enter you no more.
²   Shake yourself from the dust, rise up,
          O captive Jerusalem;
     loose the bonds from your neck,
          O captive daughter Zion!

³For thus says the LORD: You were sold for nothing, and you shall be redeemed without money. ⁴For thus says the Lord GOD: Long ago, my people went down into Egypt to reside there as aliens; the Assyrian, too, has oppressed them without cause. ⁵Now therefore what am I doing here, says the LORD, seeing that my people are taken away without cause? Their rulers howl, says the LORD, and continually, all day long, my name is despised. ⁶Therefore my people shall know my name; therefore in that day they shall know that it is I who speak; here am I.

⁷    How beautiful upon the mountains
          are the feet of the messenger who announces peace,
     who brings good news,
          who announces salvation,
          who says to Zion, "Your God reigns."
⁸   Listen! Your sentinels lift up their voices,
          together they sing for joy;
     for in plain sight they see
          the return of the LORD to Zion.
⁹   Break forth together into singing,
          you ruins of Jerusalem;
     for the LORD has comforted his people,
          he has redeemed Jerusalem.
¹⁰  The LORD has bared his holy arm
          before the eyes of all the nations;
     and all the ends of the earth shall see
          the salvation of our God.

¹¹  Depart, depart, go out from there!
          Touch no unclean thing;
     go out from the midst of it, purify yourselves,
          you who carry the vessels of the LORD.
¹²  For you shall not go out in haste,
          and you shall not go in flight;
     for the LORD will go before you,
          and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

¹²Friends, I beg you, become as I am, for I also have become as you are. You have done me no wrong. ¹³You know that it was because of a physical infirmity that I first announced the gospel to you; ¹⁴though my condition put you to the test, you did not scorn or despise me, but welcomed me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus. ¹⁵What has become of the good will you felt? For I testify that, had it been possible, you would have torn out your eyes and given them to me. ¹⁶Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth? ¹⁷They make much of you, but for no good purpose; they want to exclude you, so that you may make much of them. ¹⁸It is good to be made much of for a good purpose at all times, and not only when I am present with you. ¹⁹My little children, for whom I am again in the pain of childbirth until Christ is formed in you, ²⁰I wish I were present with you now and could change my tone, for I am perplexed about you.

¹In those days when there was again a great crowd without anything to eat, he called his disciples and said to them, ²“I have compassion for the crowd, because they have been with me now for three days and have nothing to eat. ³If I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way — and some of them have come from a great distance.” ⁴His disciples replied, “How can one feed these people with bread here in the desert?” ⁵He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven.” ⁶Then he ordered the crowd to sit down on the ground; and he took the seven loaves, and after giving thanks he broke them and gave them to his disciples to distribute; and they distributed them to the crowd. ⁷They had also a few small fish; and after blessing them, he ordered that these too should be distributed. ⁸They ate and were filled; and they took up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full. ⁹Now there were about four thousand people. And he sent them away. ¹⁰And immediately he got into the boat with his disciples and went to the district of Dalmanutha.

1 (2) La maldad habla al malvado
en lo íntimo de su corazón.
Jamás tiene él presente
que hay que temer a Dios.
2 (3) Se cree tan digno de alabanzas,
que no encuentra odiosa su maldad.
3 (4) Es malhablado y mentiroso,
perdió el buen juicio, dejó de hacer el bien.
4 (5) Acostado en su cama, planea hacer lo malo;
tan aferrado está a su mal camino
que no quiere renunciar a la maldad.

5 (6) Pero tu amor, Señor, llega hasta el cielo;
tu fidelidad alcanza al cielo azul.
6 (7) Tu justicia es como las grandes montañas;
tus decretos son como el mar grande y profundo.
Tú, Señor, cuidas de hombres y animales.
7 (8) ¡Qué maravilloso es tu amor, oh Dios!
¡Bajo tus alas, los hombres buscan protección!
8 (9) Quedan completamente satisfechos
con la abundante comida de tu casa;
tú les das a beber de un río delicioso,
9 (10) porque en ti está la fuente de la vida
y en tu luz podemos ver la luz.

10 (11) Brinda siempre tu amor y tu justicia
a los que te conocen,
a los hombres honrados.
11 (12) No dejes que me pisoteen los orgullosos
ni que me zarandeen los malvados.
12 (13) ¡Vean cómo caen los malhechores!
¡Caen para no volver a levantarse!

(1) Lamentación de David, cuando cantó al Señor, a propósito de Cus, el benjaminita.
(2-3) Señor, mi Dios, en ti busco protección;
¡sálvame de todos los que me persiguen!
¡Líbrame, pues son como leones;
no sea que me despedacen
y no haya quien me salve!

3 (4) Señor, mi Dios,
¿en cuál de estas cosas he incurrido?
¿Acaso he cometido un crimen?
4 (5) ¿Acaso he pagado a mi amigo mal por bien?
¿Acaso he oprimido sin razón a mi enemigo?
5 (6) De ser así, que mi enemigo me persiga;
que me alcance y me arrastre por el suelo,
y que haga rodar por el suelo mi honor.

6 (7) ¡Levántate, Señor, con furor!
¡Haz frente a la furia de mis enemigos!
Tú, que has decretado hacer justicia,
¡ponte de mi parte!
7 (8) Rodéate del conjunto de las naciones
y pon tu trono en lo alto, por encima de ellas.

8 (9) Señor, tú juzgas a las naciones:
júzgame conforme a mi honradez;
júzgame conforme a mi inocencia.
9 (10) Dios justo,
que examinas los pensamientos
y los sentimientos más profundos,
¡pon fin a la maldad de los malvados,
pero al hombre honrado manténlo firme!

10 (11) Mi protección es el Dios altísimo,
que salva a los de corazón sincero.
11 (12) Dios es un juez justo
que condena la maldad en todo tiempo.
12 (13) Si el hombre no se vuelve a Dios,
Dios afilará su espada;
ya tiene su arco tenso,
13 (14) ya apunta sus flechas encendidas,
¡ya tiene listas sus armas mortales!
14 (15) Miren al malvado:
tiene dolores de parto,
está preñado de maldad
y dará a luz mentira.
15 (16) Ha hecho una fosa muy honda,
y en su propia fosa caerá.
16 (17) ¡Su maldad y su violencia
caerán sobre su propia cabeza!

17 (18) Alabaré al Señor porque él es justo;
cantaré himnos al nombre del Señor,
al nombre del Altísimo.
