While there is no “right way” to challenge all of the “isms” we face, here are a few suggestions to consider-- both personal and congregational.
We invite God’s guidance to help us embody the abundant, beloved community that we hope to create and believe that God desires. We do that by the ways we plan, interact and practice the work, recognizing that how we are “showing up” matters as much as what we are doing. Core principles guide and align our work with our beliefs and represent lessons learned from our partners. We commit ourselves to the following core principles to address systemic poverty.
Coronavirus/COVID-19 Immigrant, Migrant, and Refugee Resources
Presbyterian Ministry at the United Nations (PMUN) has compiled a new resource for Presbyterians. This 2-page country fact sheet on the Korean Peninsula summarizes the work currently undertaken by the various UN agencies. The fact sheet also highlights Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s historical and current partnerships with our church partners in the country, the guiding PC(USA) General Assembly policies on each country, and the ways PMUN addresses these issues at the United Nations.
Advocate for your congregation to prioritize Courageous Conversations, a PC(USA) call to stop sexual violence by preaching, teaching or holding a service of healing during the month of October. A list of resources are available for your use.
A World Uprooted: Responding to Migrants, Refugees and Displaced People.
