After two attempts to encourage the General Assembly to go “fossil free” did not go as they hoped, First Presbyterian Church of Tallahassee, Florida, decided to take matters into their own hands, or, more specifically, their own footprint.
The Committee on Mission Responsibility Through Investment (MRTI) is making final preparations for its recommendations to the 223rd General Assembly. MRTI is a three-agency committee that implements the General Assembly’s policies on faith-based investing.

The new edition is the sixth official service book to be published for North American Presbyterians and it is the first edition published in the 21st century. Responsive to the many changes in the church and world since the last revision (in 1993), these new editions are more informative, user-friendly, inclusive and flexible than ever before.

The Presbyterian Mission Agency Board has scheduled an open meeting for 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, during which it is expected to receive a report from the Executive Director Search Committee.
Upon the recommendation of the faculty and the president, the board of trustees of Union Presbyterian Seminary has appointed the Rev. Dr. Rebecca L. Davis as associate professor of Christian education, with tenure, at the Charlotte campus; and Dr. James E. Taneti as assistant professor of world Christianity at the Richmond campus. Taneti’s primary role will be as director of the Syngman Rhee Global Mission Center for Christian Education.
