For more than 20 years now, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has invited leaders from partner denominations around the world to come to the U.S. to meet and worship with Presbyterians. Since the beginning, more than 220 International Peacemakers from 57 countries have taken part in the program, giving church leaders a firsthand look at the challenges and rewards of serving Christ—even in the most difficult conditions.

A Dependent Care Reimbursement Policy approved by the Committee on the Office of the General Assembly (COGA) will make it easier for young parents and other caregivers to serve as commissioners or advisory delegates to the 222nd General Assembly (2016).
Under the new policy, commissioners and advisory delegates may be reimbursed for the costs of a variety of caregiving arrangements, as long as the expenses don’t exceed $800 per dependent or $400 per additional dependent.

The Morning Star Presbyterian Church of Bayville, New Jersey, and one of its members are being recognized for recovery work surrounding Hurricane Sandy, the deadly storm that affected 24 states in 2012. Exelon Corporation, an energy company headquartered in Chicago, is giving the church a $5,000 Merit Award on behalf of one of its employees, who is also a Morning Star member.
It’s been three years in the making. But for those working together on what has become an “act of grace,” it’s been worth every moment.
“What we ended up creating was a beautiful reflection of our diversity of expression for worship of God,” says Marcus Hong.

On the small island country of Sri Lanka, nearly 75 percent of its fishing fleet was destroyed, according to the Presbyterian Hunger Program and its Joining Hands partners in the region.
