Financial Aid for Service celebrates the General Assembly’s Living Missionally initiative by seeking service program partners for a service loan program. Why do we need partners? We don’t want to create service opportunities — we want to support the diverse array of service opportunities that are available through Presbyterian churches, camps and conference centers, and colleges by incentivizing service for Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) members. Financial Aid for Service will provide Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) participants with up to $250 a month (not to exceed 12 months) in loan assistance payments, made payable to the participant’s loan servicer, as well as tips on how to maintain their student loan in good standing. Our local grant administration partners recruit for their service programs, direct applicants to the Presbyterian Church’s Season of Service Loan Assistance web page, and supervise the local service program. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) members participating in your service program would be eligible to apply for student loan repayment assistance.
