The 224th General Assembly (2020) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is still more than four-and-a-half months away, but work is already underway to prepare for the hundreds of Presbyterians and their families who will gather in Baltimore. In addition to the many opportunities for social justice work, the Office of the General Assembly’s Hands and Feet Initiative is looking for volunteers.
Since 2018, OGA has been working closely with The Center, a mission outreach of the Presbytery of Baltimore. Its mission is to help inspire and equip churches to engage with neighborhoods by connecting them with community needs in and around Baltimore.
General Assembly-affiliated visitors will have the opportunity to spend time with people from different races, classes and culture. The Center will offer family members, youth groups and others the chance to work from 8:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, June 22, 24, 25, and 26. OGA’s video ministry recently visited with The Center’s executive director, Kate Foster Connors, about the organization’s work.
