Tony De La Rosa, interim executive director of the Presbyterian Mission Agency of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), has published the first edition of his e-newsletter called “Keeping Faith.” Accompanied by a newly launched video digest of inspiring stories from around the PC(USA) and planned for monthly release, “Keeping Faith” carries on the tradition of regular informational updates from PMA leadership.

De La Rosa says the incorporation of the video digest is an innovative way to reach new and diverse audiences with news from the executive director.

“The use of video is a far more compelling way of telling stories about the efforts and work of people in the field at the Mission Agency,” he says. “A new generation requires that we look at new modes of communication to get the word out about what God is doing in the church and the mission field that we serve.”

The first installment of the video digest De La Rosa shares three stories “that highlight ways we are living out our faith in Jesus Christ, energizing diverse leaders in ministry, and speaking and living God’s truth as we answer the call to do justice.”

Aimed at a general audience, seeking more information about the work of the Presbyterian Mission Agency, De La Rosa envisions the video digest will be used by the church in a variety of ways, saying, “We hope these video messages will be excerpted as minutes for mission in churches and presbyteries to inspire participation in the life of the Mission Agency.”

De La Rosa also hopes participation in creation of the video digest becomes a churchwide effort, featuring mission efforts from a variety of settings. “I welcome story suggestions from people around the church who want to engage us in this effort and would like to lift up their story, particularly if there’s a role the PMA has played in bringing that story to fruition.”

The newsletter and video are currently available in English language only. Korean and Spanish translations will be available for this first edition soon, and for subsequent installments.
