The Stated Clerk Nomination Committee (SCNC) has released the results of a recent survey designed to identify the qualities and characteristics needed in the next Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

The committee, which met Sept 1–3 in Louisville, is tasked with bringing a nomination for the denomination’s highest ecclesiastical officer to the 222nd General Assembly (2016) in Portland, Oregon, June 18–25, 2016.

More than 750 responses to the survey were received in English and in Spanish and many comments were submitted, providing the SCNC with valuable feedback and suggestions.

“We were very pleased with the response to the survey,” the Reverend Carol McDonald, moderator of the SCNC, said. “The summary data validated much of what the SCNC believed to be true. Please be in prayer for us as we seek God’s will for this key position.”

Numerical results of the survey can be accessed here in English and Español.

The application process for the Stated Clerk position opens October 1. Questions can be directed to Kathy Lueckert, staff to the SCNC, at Kathy.lueckert@villagepres.org.
