Presbyterians can practice two perennial Christmas traditions, sending cards and giving gifts, all while making a lasting difference through support of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) four churchwide Special Offerings.

“Ordering the Christmas cards we are offering and/or making a gift through the Presbyterian Giving Catalog in honor of a family member or friend will benefit the life-changing ministries supported by our churchwide Special Offerings,” said Bryce Wiebe, manager of PC(USA) Special Offerings. “We are pleased to offer Presbyterians two more ways to make an impact in our world at Christmastime.”

Christmas cards are available with a wide array of Christmas-themed artwork. They can be ordered in boxsets of 20, with a single design or in a variety of designs if ordered individually. A standard message can be chosen for the cards or the message can be customized at no additional cost.

The Presbyterian Giving Catalog, which is produced every autumn, includes 44 items that represent needs both in the United States and around the world.  Among the gifts are a set of farming tools for a developing world family ($10), family of chickens ($25), refugee food basket ($50), pair of goats ($178), transportation pass for unemployed job seekers ($20-100), registration fee for Presbyterian Youth Triennium ($475), and a fishing boat and accessories for fishermen who lost their boats to Typhoon Haiyan ($1,200).

The catalog can be accessed online at www.presbyteriangifts.org.  Gift-givers can have a card mailed to them for each item ordered, and a printable certificate of gift will be sent to the email address he or she provides. The certificates can be tucked into the card and presented to the gift’s recipient.
