With the United Nations designating March 22 as World Water Day, many churches are observing Clean Water Sunday on March 17.
Living Waters for the World, a ministry of the Synod of Living Waters that provides sustainable clean water to communities in need, invites churches to celebrate 20 years of clean water ministry in worship.
LWW has prepared a full set of worship resources — liturgies, sermons and children’s talks — and educational materials that can be used or adapted as needed. Of particular note is the hymn Once a Woman Seeking Water, written by Carolyn Winfrey Gillette. Listen to it here.
“We hope that you will join with hundreds of other congregations across the nation that will be offering liturgies and prayers to further the vision of clean water for all God’s children everywhere!” reads a LWW press release.
