The 220th General Assembly in three minutes a day.
Once again this year, Presbyterian News Service will produce daily telephone summaries of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) General Assembly in Pittsburgh. The phone reports, recorded each day by PNS Coordinator Jerry L. Van Marter, will recap each day’s events and decisions, beginning Saturday, June 30.
To reach the VoiceLine reports ― a partnership between PNS and Presbytel, the denomination’s toll-free telephone information service ― call 502-569-5000, extension 2012 or toll-free at 800-728-7228, extension 2012.
A five-minute recap of the entire Assembly will be available shortly after adjournment at noon on Saturday, July 7.
“News stories from the General Assembly will be online, as will live-streaming of the plenary sessions,” says Van Marter, who has been recording GA summaries for VoiceLine for 20 years. “But many Presbyterians like the ease and convenience of just picking up the phone and getting a brief summary of each day’s news.”
