In a new book from Westminster John Knox Press, veteran pastor James C. Howell studies the beloved verse from Micah 6:8: “What Does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”

In What Does the Lord Require? Doing Justice, Loving Kindness, Walking Humbly, Howell illuminates the original context in which Micah 6:8 was written, taking the reader back to Micah’s life and the cultural and political context of the time. Howell also explores how Micah’s message was received by his contemporaries, and demonstrates how Micah’s message can still guide us in our lives today.

Included in What Does the Lord Require? is a study guide written by Kathy Wolf Reed, making the book ideal for groups in addition to individual study.
