Stated Clerk supports peace and reconciliation in El Salvador
The Reverend Dr. J. Herbert Nelson, II, Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), co-officiated the installation of the International Peace and Reconciliation Commission in El Salvador. It is an ecumenical body that includes the PC(USA)'s partner church, the Iglesia Reformada Calvinista de El Salvador. Despite peace accords in 1992, the country has been devastated by gang violence, economic instability, and mass migration northward.
