Apply Your Easter Offering Wherever the Need is Greatest

On the day of Jesus’ crucifixion, Scripture tells us that “darkness came over the whole land,” and when he had breathed his last breath, “the earth shook and the rocks were split” (Matthew 27:45-51). It’s hard not to imagine the utter despair, shock and heartbreak felt by all those who witnessed Jesus’ tragic death upon a cross.

Now envision the situation in Ukraine, where the war is now in its fourth year. Or in Southern California, where families are still pulling scraps of their lives from the rubble and ashes of their homes. As faithful Presbyterians, we know that even in desperate moments like these, there is hope of new life in the risen Christ.
