Fear not!

“‘Fear not’ he said to the fearful ones…” That is the distinctive repeating line in our favorite Christmas hymn from the church in Niger. This is an important refrain for us to hear today in a world that is full of fear and disoriented by fearmongering. But we have the good news that our Savior has come to dwell among us. May this be the bright hope that dissolves our fears as we pray in the words of the Christmas hymn “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus,” this season, “…come Emmanuel, bless the nations with your presence here!”
