Are you a young adult with a heart for service who feels a personal or professional call to be a steward of God's Creation? The Eco-Stewards Program is actively recruiting passionate, dedicated young people to apply for the Eco-Stewards Program from May 16-23 and 8-10 week paid internships.
For 2010 the Eco-Stewards Program is offering a one week experience called "Tending the Garden: A Faith Response to Protecting and Restoring Mountains, Communities and Relationships" in West Virginia from May 16-23, along with a limited number of paid summer internships. More information is available on the Eco-Stewards Program website.
There are four internships available to young adults who participate in the weeklong Eco-Stewards Program. The weeklong program will include training in principles and practices of eco-stewardship to prepare interns for summer experiences in which they will work with environmental stewardship projects at local Christian organizations around West Virginia. Interns will receive support from the Eco-Stewards community in West Virginia through bi-weekly fellowship and Bible study with other interns. All internships will be service-oriented at locations with great needs. Spend your summer strengthening communities and making the connection between your faith and environmental stewardship.
Download Eco-Steward Internship Descriptions for more information on the four 8-10 week internships. Interns will be paid $200 a week and housing will be provided by host locations. Internships will be filled on a first-come first-served basis once a strong applicant has been approved by the internship site.
Young adults may apply for the weeklong program only, or apply for the weeklong program and an internship.
