In a variety of ways, all across the country, Presbyterians celebrated Earth Day. In small and large congregations, in community celebrations or in church worship, certified Earth Care Congregations used the opportunity of Earth Day as a way to care for God's good creation. Congratulations to the high school youth of Hunter Presbyterian Church for successfully renewing our certification as a PC(USA) Earth Care Congregation. The children and youth were profiled in Presbyterians Today magazine for certifying our church 3 years ago. To date, Hunter Presbyterian Church is the only Earth Care certified church in Lexington, KY, and the only church nationally that has been certified by children and youth.
Did you know? On Earth Day, April, 23, 2016, the middle schoolers and youth of Hunter Presbyterian Church donated their time and money to give energy efficient lightbulbs to our neighbors on Rosemont Garden. What a wonderful way to celebrate Earth Day!
