People's Climate Marches Oct 2015

2015 has been and promises to continue to be a key year in organizing for climate action and climate justice, in the United States and around the world. It has been a rich time of reflection adn action, with Pope Francis' papal encyclical in June, Pope Francis' visit to the United States this fall (here is one Presbyterian's reflection on the papal visit), fall climate marches and rallies, and with the upcoming United Nations COP 21 in Paris (click here for climate actions to follow in conjunction with the COP 21).

This week, on October 14, 2015, there were over 200 climate marches and rallies in nearly all 50 states. Reminding us of the huge September 2014 climate march in New York city and the growing climate marches connected to the United Nations COP meetings each Nov-Dec, this month's event called on our local, national, and international governing bodies to take climate action seriously and to treat it with urgency.

Here are some of the photos from the Louisville, KY march and rally.
