Bell Ringing for Climate Justice

From December 7-18 international leaders will be meeting in Copenhagen in December to create a new international agreement to lower greenhouse gas emissions that will replace the Kyoto Protocol when it expires in 2012.

To show your support for climate justice, ring your church bells (or hand-bells) 350 times at 3pm on December 13th, which will be at the height of the climate legislation in Copenhagen. The World Council of Churches is sponsoring this activity to create a chain of prayer and music around the globe to support climate legislation. Go to the World Council of Churches web site to register your event or to download liturgy and hymns for a worship service on climate justice.

Bill Somplatsky-Jarman, coordinator of Social Witness Ministries at PC(USA) will be attending the climate change talks starting on December 10 and will be sending in blog posts to Eco-Journey from Copenhagen.
