On October 10, 2010, or 10/10/10, 350.org is sponsoring a global work party to celebrate climate solutions and call for political progress on climate change.
Find a work party near you, or work with your church to organize a work party. Think of anything that you can do to make a difference environmentally, and get a group together to do so on 10/10/10. Work with church members to install energy-efficient light bulbs or make other energy efficient upgrades at church. Get a group together to plant trees. Till land for a winter garden and have a local foods picnic. These are just a few ideas, and you can find more at 350.org.
10/10/10 is also ten weeks before the Climate Talks in Cancun, Mexico. Church World Service has put together a resource to help churches connect issues of climate change with our faith. The resource suggests ten weeks of reading and reflection leading up to the Cancun climate talks (starting on 10/10). Find the resource on the Church World Service website.
