Seeing God at work and at play

In stillness, sit quietly in the presence of our awesome God. Take some time with these pictures, and with energy, intelligence, imagination and love, allow God's Spirit to evoke a prayer within you.

Share your reflections on photos in our Flickr group.

Praying our way to San Jose

Praying Our Way to San Jose

What is “Praying Our Way to San Jose?” It’s a road trip — and a whole lot more. The Office of Christian Formation invites the church to a special emphasis on prayer in the days leading up the General Assembly.

Weeping for a Child

There are inconsolable tears when losing a child. No matter why — infertility or abortion, accident or suicide, stillbirth or sickness — our confidence in God is shaken. How do we pray when our hearts are broken? How do we recover a sense that God’s mercies are new every morning? Share the experience of some who've made the spiritual journey through "weeping for a child" in the spring issue of Hungryhearts.

The Office of Spiritual Formation

Coordinated through the Office of Spiritual Formation in the General Assembly offices in Louisville, and planned in cooperation with governing bodies and other church entities, the program offers opportunities for experiencing and furthering the work of the Holy Spirit in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Rather than providing a "one-size-fits-all" program, the goals of the office are:

  • to provide resources for spiritual growth;
  • to plan programs that meet specific needs in specific areas;
  • to promote existing programs; and
  • to identify and develop leadership in spiritual formation
