Lee has extensive experience in the legal field and in researching
human rights issues. He worked as a legislative aide in Illinois
for two years. At Katz, Friedman, Schur, & Eagle in Chicago
he was a liaison for labor union employees for five years. He
also served as a hearing officer and general counsel for the Illinois
State Labor Relations Board. Lee practiced law with Vicki Lafer
Abrahamson & Associates in Chicago. In 1988 he did research
in the Roman Catholic Churchs human rights organization,
Vicaria de la Solidaridad, in Santiago, Chile.
A native of Vinton, Iowa, Lee received a B.A. degree in political
science from Sangamon State University in Chicago, Illinois, in
1975, and a J.D. from the University of Illinois in 1979. In 1989
he earned an M. Div. from Chicago Theological Seminary (United
Church of Christ).
Lee is a member of the United Church of Hyde Park in Chicago,
Illinois.
