Peacemakers visit the Bluegrass

Christian-Muslim duo from Egypt promotes understanding

Emad Ramzy Philobbos, a Christian, is a professor at the University of Assiut, and Abou Elela Mady, a Muslim, is the General Manager of the International Center for Studies.  The two have worked together, as participants of the Cairo based Forum Intercultural Dialogue, to promote tolerance and equality among Christians and Muslims in Egypt.  Their visit to the United States, as part of the Interfaith Listening Program, included trips to Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky and New York State.

The team hoped to "help Americans learn from Egypt's experiences with interfaith relationships" Philobbos and Mady were interviewed by the Lexington Herald-Leader after their presentation at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky.
